Since I was recovering from my surgery this last summer when I usually have Grandma's week I had a little Halloween party and sleep over for the kids. They bobbed for apples and they loved it so much they kept puttin their apples back and doing it again. We did crafts, decorated cookies, played Halloween bingo and had dinner. I had had my chemo treatment that week and I had caught a cold and was very sick the day before. I prayed to get well because I didn't want to disappoint the kids. By Friday I was feeling better and we had a great time.

We went to Henderson, NEV to visit Wade and Kandice and the guys went to the BYU football game. We
had a nice visit and it was good to see the kids. Cara and Wendy and their families went also. This was Oct. 10 and 11 this was also my first trip since my surgery. I did okay but I had a cold which lasted over a month. I feel better now and I got a flu shot.

My good friends LaNell Langi came to visit me from Salt Lake. I had already started chemo but she came on my off week in Aug. She lost her husband a year ago from a heart attack. We have been friends for almost 30 years. It is good to have friends who stay with you through all your trials.

These beautiful flowered that normally bloom in the Spring bloomed in July after my surgery in June. They really cheered me up.

This is Wayne and I a week after my surgery. Doctor went in for gall stones and discovered a rare form of cancer called gall bladder cancer. He took out a large tumor and part of my liver. We have trials that is just part of life. No matter what the situation we must go on with life and that is why I am continuing on with my blog. Even though we are going through this huge trial, I feel the spirit every day and feel grateful for all my many many blessings. I started chemo last week and this week my white blood cells and down so I couldn't have my treatment until they come back up. So I am home bound this week. Plenty of time to work on my blog.

We got Freckles a lei from Hawaii, we saw a beagle in Waikiki with a lei and we thought Freckles would look cute in one too. We put it on when we take her for a walk.

The day after we got back from Hawaii March 26 I went with Wendy and her kids and the home school group to Legoland. These two pictures are all legos it was fasinating. Everying looked so real. There were a lot of cute rides also but most everything was for kids 5 to 10 years old. Thanks Wendy sure had a great time with the kids.

We went to Hawaii again first time this year though and Wendy and Scott and family came also. We were house sitting for Auntie Barbara while they went to Arizona for two week. They have a wonderful home a block from the beach.

Valentine's Day we went to Vegas for the twin's first birthday and Chase's 2nd birthday. We stayed at the South Pointe hotel. Wendy and her family, Chad and his family, Cara couldn't make it they were in the middle of a move and were packing. I am holding Hayven, Chad's daughter. We had a great time together even though it was a short trip. It was good to see Kandice's family, her mother and brother were there. We missed her dad by a few day.

Our ward Blue and Gold dinner was in Feb. We made volcanos for center pieces. Everything went great, I have to admit I did enjoy getting ready for this event. We taught the boys all about Hawaii and made a presentation at the dinner. A week before the dinner I got releases and put in Primary Valiant 9. I have never been in Primary and I love it!!!!!!!

We went to Chad's ward and then went over to their apt. for dinner in Feb. Little Chad is getting sooo big. As I am writing this the last day of March he weighs 23 lbs. We haven't seen his neck yet.

was great and it wasn't crowed
at all. This was Feb.4. I especially
liked the Manatees. I could relate
to them. They eat lettuce all

Guess who this is? Yes, it is the Dog Whisperer, Cescar Milan. I was meeting Cara in the parking lot of the 19th street Stater Bro. when he almost hit us with his car. Otherwise I wouldn't have even noticed him but once I did we watched what he was doing and then we drove by. Cara said to get out and go talk to him but I was too embarressed. So we slowly drove by and I took a picture. You can see his dog in the back seat. He was talking to someone from the Cucamonga Water District. It was a thrill. This happened on January 7, 2009.

New Year's Eve day is our family annual gingerbread party at my parents home. Colleen and I made gingerbread houses and put money gold dollars in houses. She put $130 and I had $60. After we have a story by Colleen and a game the kids get to hit the houses they find all the money, and the money is divided up equally among the kids. Mostly greatgrand children are there and a few friends. We have done it for 8 years now. The kids love the money - they all get about $10 or more each. We do it in the garage because after those gingerbread houses are smashed by the kids it is a mess!!!!!!

On December 27 Wayne was sealed to his parents in the Redland's temple. This was a very special day for our family. Everyone participated and we really felt the spirit there. Thanks so much for Becky Merrell in our ward who helped me with the paper work

This is our annual family Christmas party we had at the Fontana community center Dec.21. We had a great time, lots of food, fun games, crafts for the kids and over 50 of us there. There were two grandsons and their families missing. We had a great time socializing but there were a few complaints can't please everyone hopefully next year will be perfect. No more forcing people to do a game,Wendy.

This is our backyard the day I drove back from Utah on December 19. It was beautiful driving home especially when I came down the pass from Barstow and looked over the Victor valley, all white from as far as I could see.

I made it up to Cara's for her birthday on December 18th. We had a great day together while the tire was getting fixed. Gary made breakfast for us and babysat while we went shopping and out to lunch. That night we went to Red Robin for dinner and then to the Toucan outdoor theater for a Christmas program and see Santa.

I went to see Wade and Kandice on my way to Cara's. It started to snow.

I was planning to stay a little longer with Wade and Kandice but when it started to snow hard I thought I better get up to St. George and get ahead of the storm.

I was doing great I was way ahead of the storm and then I started up the gorge before St. George. It was snowing and getting worse and guess what I got a flat tire. I was all by myself and there is not cell phone service there. I didn't know what to do. I got out of my car and just waited for someone to come and help me. A nice lady picked me up and took me to Cara's. Gary knew someone in their ward who had a towing business and he picked my car up and didn't charge me. The name of the service was Zion. What a blessing.

It has been one year December 3 since my dad's heart operation. We celebrated his health by going to the temple. After the session we went to Claim Jumper. Next month he turns 88. It is truly a miracle.

Thanksgiving was quiet this year we had Wendy and her family and Chad and his family for dinner. The next day was a lot more exciting on black Friday. Wendy, Cara and I got up at 4:30 to shop. We got some great deals but Walmart was a joke, soooo many people. In the afternoon Wendy and I took her kids to see BOLT in 3D. It was fun but Wendy and I had a hard time staying awake since we had been up soooo early. These are the glasses we got to see the movie in 3D

I went to Logan's candy in Ontario with my sister Colleen and Wendy's 4 kids. Madison got this blue powder candy that made your mouth blue. It is really a interesting store in down town Ontario. In December they make candy canes and the public can come and watch. It has been featured on the food channel.

The first week of November I babysat for Wendy and Scott

while Wendy and Scott went to Cancun I also watched Hayven, Chad's daughter while they took the new baby to the doctor for a check up one morning. Caleb and Landon played with Hayven while they were gone. We had a great week together except for losing the tarancula refer to Wendy's blog for full story. Towards the end of the week the kids started missing their parents. Landon who is 2 was all potty trained but that week he went back to diapers. Sorry, kids sometimes express their emotions in different ways. Caleb who is 4 ran away at his soccer game because he didn't get a treat after the game because he was playing. I couldn't chase him so I watched him run down to the next field hoping he would turn around and come back. Someone asked him where his parents were and I guess that scared him and he came back and was just fine. I love babysitting my grandchildren it always keeps life fun.

October 20 we finally got a flight to Hawaii . We went standby and it took us 2 weeks to get a flight to Hawaii but hey it was free. We just checked on the internet if the flight was open or not but it was frustrating. Cara quit her job with Sky West so no more free flight so we got our wings chopped but we have great memories. We will have to start saving our money for trips now like everyone else. We went to all our favorite places - shaved ice in Haleiwa, Chinese food a Pa ke 's, Hawaiian food and of course Japanese food at Genjei Sushi in Kaneohe where the food moves around on a conveyer belt and you just pick what you want they charge you by the colored plates that are left. We love this place. We also went to the swap meet at the Aloha Stadium. We went to the temple and the beach and had a great time for the short time we were there.

We stayed in a house near the beach in Hauula that belongs to a friend of Wayne's aunt for nothing what a deal.

We went to Hawaii for a week before the baby was born and on the way to Haleiwa there is a beach where the green sea turtles come to feed. We go every year but this year there were quite a few on the beach.

Here is our newest grandchild, Chad John Wakumoto Jr. born Oct. 29, this is our 12th, we have 7 boys and 5 girls. Everyone is doing great, he is already a month old now.

Jatia's sister and mother planned a surprise baby shower for Jatia on Saturday Sept. 20 at 3 pm at the Panda Inn . We had a private room. There were only 15 of us a couple of friends, a few cousins a couple of aunts and me Wendy and Colleen. The food was soooo good and we had the best time. The Sims family is so fun to be around we just laughed and laughed the whole time. Candy(Jatia's mother) made these cute candy wrappers as favors. Havie just loved being with all the girls. Chad helped arrange everything and she was certainly surprised.

Jatia opened her gifts with the help of Hayven. This is the blanket I made. I started it in June and was able to finish it in time. I also gave her a baby noise machine with music, ocean sounds, heart beat sounds and rain sounds. It also has a light that shines on the ceiling little animals, stars etc.

Labor Day weekend we had family over Fri and Sat. for the BYU game and a BBQ. On Sunday after church we took the kids walking with the dog. The kids love it and so does the dog.

August 25 was the first day of school for Madison and Ethan. Madison started 3rd grade and Ethan started 1st at Etiwanda Colonies. It is such an exciting day I have never missed a first day of school with the Silvers. Even when they lived in Utah briefly I was able to go with Madison when she started school there.

We painted our kitchen. This is the 3rd time. Our kitchen was a Relief Society project that didn't turn out so we had to redo it. First we had to prime it because the last paint was dark and streaky.

This is pictures of Wendy's kids at the Hollywood Bowl on Zimbawa day there. It is a summer program that families in her ward do every summer. They had an extra ticket so I was able to go. There were crafts for the kids and then a program of music and culture from that country, very nice activity except for the earthquake that struck that day right during the program. We also went to Farmers Market and the American Girl store in LA. Love you kids so much!

I have a new calling now, I am a cub leader for the bears and wolves. Kind a crazy, went to a round table meeting tonight with Wayne because he is in the Stake Young Men. If any of you have done this tell me some of your ideas????

Cara posted her new dog so I thought I would post a picture I took of our dog, Freckles. She is 4 years old this month and she is a good dog. We take her for walks everyday. The neighbor kids love to come over and play with her. She also has a boyfriends across the street named Charlie who she goes and visits now and then. She is a good companion and a friends to us.

I just got back from Utah visiting Cara while Gary was at Lake Powell with the Young Men and Austin. We did some serious shopping and eating out. Thanks Cara for everything. I went back to work for two days, that is all I am going to do from now on.

on July 28 1973 in the Provo temple. Three weeks later after Wayne graduated from BYU with his Master Degree in Counseling, we moved to Hawaii. We lived there for 5 years and had Wendy, Wade and Cara there. We moved to Orange County, Santa Ana and stayed there for three years. We bought our first house in Rancho Cucamonga in 1980. That's our little history.

We went to this REALLY good restaurant in Rochester called Dinosaur BBQ right near the hotel we stayed at the other picture is our walk home along this really big river. There was water everywhere in New York such a beautiful place reminded us of Hawaii.

Time goes so quickly in our family and we have so many activities and birthdays. Ethan and I shared our birthday party at ChuckE Cheese with cousin Hayven, Aunt Colleen, Grandma and Grandpa Baker.

For my birthday I wanted to go golfing so Wayne took me the day after my birthday here at the Jess Ranch course. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Hope to do it again soon.

I went up to Las Vegas for Kandice's birthday. Her big 30. Cara and Gary and family came to make it a special celebration. It was so fun to spend time with everyone and to see those two babies again. They had grown so much.

The baby on the left is Paige and the one on the right is Alyse. Paige is the big sister by 3 minutes and she weighed 5 lbs 12 oz. Alyse weighed 6 lbs 1 oz.

Madison Silver was finally baptized on Jan. 4 2008 everyone was there and it was a very lovely evening even though it was pouring rain. Cara and Gary flew down and Wade and Kandice drove down (their last trip before the babies come.
